Damsels in Success

August 24th, 2007 · No Comments

PeopleSearchDigest.com - Damsels In SuccessIt seems as though ladies no longer need to be rescued by a dashing (not to mention wealthy) CEO. New site, DamselsInSuccess.com confirms that strong career-minded women are rapidly climbing their own corporate ladder. Founder, Harleen Kahlon, is a former lawyer and executive recruiter who created the site because she saw a growing need for professional woman’s online sanctuary and social network.

Recently launched Damsels in Success is a savvy networking platform that is strictly targeted at professional women. The intent and design of the site is more akin to LinkedIn, rather than the mostly social MySpace and Facebook. Don’t let these Damsels fool you; they want to talk about a lot more than shoes and handbags. The content is very professional. It’s a sisterhood of sorts, Damsels is a place where female professionals of any age can learn and interact with each other. Members are able to connect and discuss topics like job opportunities, entrepreneurship, mentoring, work post childbirth, and gender issues in the workplace. Membership is open to both job seekers/professional as well as employers.

After a quick and free registration, a member has access to advice, forums, stories, and features. The discussion forums are supplemented by a blog of about 50 women, all different ages and professions. Just like any social network, a user creates a personal profile, which allows them to connect with current friends and colleagues, as well as network. The site also offers advice from Dr. Debra Condren, the resident expert on all things professional. Damsels is bound to grow quickly as more women become aware of its unique and informative qualities.
